Classroom Volunteer Signups

Being a classroom volunteer is a fun and impactful way to enhance your student's classroom experience.

Take on a role this year, or sign up with a friend to share a position!

Please remember that this is a commitment to the whole class. Some positions are year-round or occur later in the school year, so if you have a change in availability, please find a replacement or reach out to your Room Rep. Your teacher and I are also here to support you and appreciate your time!

Some positions require the volunteer to have a VIPS badge; there are also positions that can be done remotely. If you don't have a VIPS badge, click here and get started.

Please click on your child's classroom link below to share your dedicated time! There will also be multiple opportunities to share your time throughout the year: Garden, Meet the Masters, Book Fair, Carnival, Small Group Rotations, and more. Be on the lookout for those specifics from your teacher and Room Rep.

What Each Role Does

Lead Classroom Room RepVIP Ongoing

Serves as the key classroom liaison and recruits volunteers to support activities
Communicates school and classroom activities to the class
Helps collect information for class rosters
Works to support the teacher, classroom VIPs, and other volunteers
Collaborates with the teacher to create and fill volunteer slots (Class VIPs, Garden Lessons, Meet the Masters, Field Trips, and more)
Communicates directly with VIPS to ensure slots are filled and executed

Room Finance Ongoing

Works with the Lead Classroom Rep to set the budget for the classroom
Collects classroom funds and calculates activity disbursement
Reimburses expenses for classroom purchases

APEX Fun RunVIP Late October through November · Fun Run 10/23

Communicates with the Fun Run Event Chair to help support the event
Creates the class Spirit Banner displayed around the Fun Run track
Coordinates classroom volunteers for the Fun Run

Holiday PartyVIP Typically the week before Winter Break

Coordinates the classroom Holiday Party with the teacher and class volunteers (VIPs)
Communicates with the Room Rep/Finance Rep for purchase of a teacher gift (optional)

Spring Auction Spring Auction 3/20

Communicates with the Spring Auction Event Chair to help support the event
Selects a "theme" for basket items
Secures donations of items or purchases them with classroom funds
Creates a basket of items as the classroom's contribution to the Spring Auction

Teacher Appreciation Week Late April through TAW 5/4-5/8

Communicates with the Head Room Rep to help support the week's activities
Communicates all Teacher Appreciation Week activities with the class
Purchases/coordinates gifts and other tokens of appreciation for the teacher(s) and a potential staff member

End of Year PartyVIP End of Year Parties in June

Plans the classroom End of Year Party with the teacher and other volunteers (VIPs)
Communicates with the Room Rep/Finance Rep for purchase of a teacher gift (optional)
